Lisa Goodin

Hometown: Mountain View, California

Background: I became a distance runner halfway through college when I walked on the XC and track teams at Westmont College in Santa Barbara and fell in love with the sport of running. I’d run recreationally and for one season of high school track prior to that, but had primarily focused on playing competitive soccer up until college. I did well against NAIA competition in college (fall 2006-spring 2009), but all of my personal bests have come post-collegiately under the coaching of my husband and cheerleading of our three children. Between birthing and raising three kids and nursing several injuries over the years, my racing was sparse for a time. But I am back in action and stoked to have landed with PRT!

Racing competitively since: 2006

PRs:

Marathon: 2:36:46 (California International Marathon, 2025)

Half Marathon: 1:14:48 (San Diego Kaiser Thrive Half Marathon, 2025)

10k: 34:43 (Cardiff Kook, 2024)

5000m: 16:23 (Tracksmith Twilight 5000 LA, 2025)

4mi: 22:08 (Navy Bridge Run, 2024)

1mi: 4:51 (La Jolla Track Club Summer Olympics, 2025)

Highlights:

  • Hitting the Olympic Trials Qualifier on my first attempt (CIM 2025)

  • Finally breaking 5:00 in the mile (4:51!) in the middle of marathon training

  • Breaking the tape at the 2024 SD Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon

  • 2025 San Diego USATF Dirt Dog XC Champ

  • 2024 San Diego USTAF Road Series Champ

  • Winning the Los Gatos Jungle Run Half Marathon 4 months postpartum after baby #2

  • Winning and setting the GSAC Conference Meet record in my first 10k in 2009

Favorite race: I can’t choose! I have SO much fun preparing for and racing everything from the mile to the marathon. I love variety and pushing my body to new limits in all the distances.

Favorite workout: I just love variety and being surprised each week with new workouts from my coach!

Words to live by: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12

Why I choose to run for PRT: This team is the best camaraderie around! Everyone is so kind and supportive and encouraging of one another. I love how everyone pushes each other to be better, with a lot of fun and laughter along the way.

What I like to do besides running: Spend quality time with my husband and three kiddos, go to the beach, all things country music, read, eat sushi and carne asada!
