NICOLE JAFFKE

**Women’s Open Team Captain

Hometown: Libertyville, IL

Background: I ran cross country and track in high school, and then took a 4 year break from distance running while in college at Marquette University to pole vault! After graduating and retiring from pole vault, I took up running again while completing grad school.

Racing Competitively Since: 2019 when I joined PRT

PRs:

10k: 39:35 (Old Pros Scripps Ranch 10k, 2019)

Half Marathon: 1:22:17 (San Diego Half Marathon (virtual), 2020)

Marathon: 2:56:43 (CIM, 2022)

The  Fun Questions:

Favorite Race: Chicago Marathon 2019 because I had family and friends spread out over the entire course cheering me on. It was also a breakthrough race with a big PR for me!

Favorite Workout: Anything long/marathon style with a fast last mile.

Words to Live By: Work hard, play hard

Why I Choose to Run for PRT: PRT is such a unique and genuine group of people. It is a loving family environment that also pushes you and inspires you to continuously run faster. Most of my San Diego memories involve the people of PRT. I always feel so lucky to have found this crew!

Favorite PRT memory: Team camp every year!

What I Like to Do Besides Running: I’m a physical therapist and athletic trainer so I love helping people (especially athletes) bounce back from injury. I manage my own business Affinity Therapy (come see me for treatments and training!) I also enjoy the sunny beaches and hikes that San Diego offers!
