MEGAN LIZOTTE

Hometown: Basalt, Colorado

Background: I grew up in a running family in the mountains of Colorado. My dad and mom were both age-group contending weekend warriors and my sisters and I all ran in college. I ran cross-country and track for the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs where I held the school record for the women’s 6k. I love road running and the track but I love mountain and trail running the most.

Racing competitively since: I ran competitively in high school, college and then post-collegiately. I ran for the adidas-Boulder Running Company Club team right after I graduated college (2006) and then signed my first shoe contract in 2010.

 The Fun Questions:

Favorite Race:  Hands down the Jungfrau Marathon in Interlaken, Switzerland! The course is fast and rolling for the first 25k (combo of trail and road) and then the final 17k is a grueling but gorgeous climb to the top of the Igor Glacier. There are waterfalls, rainbows, steep cliffs and alp-horn players all along the course. It’s one of the most beautiful and magical experiences out there.

Favorite Workout:  Progression runs

Words to Live By:  “Your job isn’t to fix anyone, but you do have the privilege to love them.” –Mariela Rosario

Why I choose to run for PRT: The girls (and guys!) on the team are so much fun, so encouraging and a great group of people who value hard work, testing limits and building others up.

Favorite PRT memory: Cheering for all the PRT ladies at the 2020 USA Olympic Marathon Trials in Atlanta.

What I Like to Do Besides Running:  I enjoy naps, interior design, buying/selling real estate, grabbing coffee with friends, cooking, traveling, shopping, Nordic skiing, hiking, camping, writing, golfing and hanging out with my 2 kids!
