COURTNEY CAMDEN - PRT Alumni Team
Hometown: Highlands Ranch, CO
Background: Actually, I have no official background in running and am pretty brand new to racing. My background is in soccer. I played elite competitive soccer since I was 3 years old, playing nationally and internationally before committing to Azusa Pacific University to play DI soccer. Unfortunately, my athletic career at APU didn’t go as expected and I tore 2 ACL’s in my time there. My second ACL was in the middle of my senior season—an injury that ended my soccer career entirely. It wasn’t until I ran my first half marathon (on a whim ) that same year, 4 months post knee reconstruction surgery that same year, that I uncovered my love for distance running. Following that race, I was invited to use my remaining NCAA eligibility to start my Master’s Degree and run for the University of San Diego.
Racing Competitively Since: Used my final year of NCAA eligibility to run track and XC for USD (2018-2019), then, ran my first full marathon in the summer of 2019

The Fun Questions:
Favorite Race: San Diego Half Marathon- without it, I never would have discovered my passion for running!
Favorite Workout: Mile Repeats or long tempos with speedy pals!
Words to Live By: “The happiest people don’t have the best of everything they make the best of everything”
Why I Choose to Run for PRT: Being fairly new to both San Diego and the running community in general, the entire PRT team has made me feel so welcome and capable of achieving the big goals I have set for myself! It’s a team filled with the most genuine humans that make me a better runner, teammate & person with every workout.
Favorite PRT memory: Amy’s 50K and birthday celebration!
What I Like to Do Besides Running: When I’m not running, in class, or fulfilling my role as a Graduate Assistant, I like to spend as much time in the beautiful San Diego sun as I possibly can! I love to hike, go to the beach, swim, and surf. I also love to paint and volunteer at the San Diego Humane Society.
