BRIDGET NOLAN

Hometown: Mount Airy, MD

Background: I started running track my freshman year of high school and have loved running ever since. I ran track and cross country at Linganore High School and then competed for University of Maryland in 2010-2014. I have continued running since then, but decided to start training more seriously at the end of 2017 when I found PRT!

Racing Competitively Since: 2006

PRs:

5000 m: 17:55.56 (track, ACC Indoor Track Championships, 2013)

10000 m: 38:02.22 (track, Duke Invitational, 2013)

Half Marathon: 1:27:39 (Pittsburgh Half Marathon, 2015)

Highlights: I was really excited when I ran under 18 minutes for a 5K in college!

The Fun Questions:

Favorite Race: Pittsburgh Half Marathon - It is always a fun event!

Favorite Workout: Any workout when I finish it saying “that wasn’t as bad as I was expecting.”

Words to Live By: Do things the right way, not just the easy way.

Why I Choose to Run for PRT: I feel lucky to have found an amazing group of supportive and welcoming runners! It is easy to get myself out of bed early to meet at 6 AM when I know I get to workout with the PRT gang. I have found a group that helps to push me to reach my goals and support me along the way.

Favorite PRT Memory: My first day, I came to the group not knowing anyone. Everyone was friendly and welcoming right away. I left that day with a bunch of new friends. I’m looking forward to making new memories with the group!

What I Like to Do Besides Running: I like to spend time exploring new places on the West Coast. More than anything, I enjoy going back home to Maryland to see my friends and family. I also like to read, spend time at the beach, binge watch shows on Netflix, try new wineries/breweries, hike, and drink coffee.
